The incubated companies would have access to labs not only of the incubation facility but also of the institutes of the Karnavati University which includes facilities like Augmented and Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, 3D Prototyping, Adobe Creative cloud facilities to name a few amongst many. The access to labs would be as per the guidelines of the specific lab.
The incubator, through internal resources of KU or tie-up with companies specializing in that field, would help to understand and file for Intellectual Property Rights including Patents.
The incubator would educate the incubated companies on ways and means to avail bank loans under different government schemes. The incubator would also help connect the companies with the banks to avail with the loan.
The incubator would have tie-ups with various angel investors/ venture capitalist and their networks. The incubator would help the companies raise capital from these entities for growth and sustainability of their venture.
The incubator will facilitate the application for grants from various government agencies under various schemes like: – SSIP, Ministry of Education, Govt. of Gujarat – Start-up Gujarat grant, Industries Commissionerate, Govt. of Gujarat – Grants under Nidhi Prayas, Dept. of S&T, Govt. of India
As per the Industrial Policy of Gujarat 2020, Startups can avail sustenance allowance of INR 20,000 per month for one year. Startups having at least one woman co-founder will be eligible for sustenance allowance of INR 25,000 per month for one year. They can avail seed support upto INR 30 lakhs for product development, marketing and professional assistance. Additional grant of upto INR 10 lakhs may be availed by startups with significant social impactMentorship support would be provided by the incubator in the following ways: – A faculty member from within Karnavati University would be assigned to each company who would mentor and monitor the company on a day-to-day basis – The companies would have access to a selected pool of faculty members who have skills in relevant specialized fields.
Karnavati University has around 4500+ students enrolled in different graduation and post-graduation programmes possessing diversified skillset. The incubated start-ups can have interaction with the available students and can also expect active participation from them in various activities.
The companies that are selected to be incubated would be provided with co-working space by the incubator. The facilities that an incubated company shall expect are: – Office space with personal Desk and Chairs – Desktops – High Speed Internet – Meeting and Conference Rooms.
The strategic partnerships with Global players in the field of academia and industry as part of KU Global will provide world class facilities to the incubated companies through craft innovation centres and knowledge sharing platforms.
The incubator would float courses and conduct workshops, when required, to help budding entrepreneurs bridge their knowledge gap.
